Taking a turn......not for the better

Bridger's body is infected with three different types of bacteria. The doctors caught it quickly, but has taken quite a toll on our sweet baby. Yesterday, his breathing was worse, his blood pressure was dropping, and his level of awareness began to decrease. He was given a blood transfusion and in the middle of the night he was changed from high flow oxygen to CPAP, due to his increased work of breathing. Right now the main goal is to support Bridger's body as he works through the infections and hopefully he will not have to be intubated (have the breathing tube put in). This morning he did not look to great, but finally around 8:30am he opened his eyes for the first time in over twelve hours and even recognized me as his mom. Hopefully this is a sign of improvement yet to come.

I'm sorry Bridger is having such a rough time. I'm glad the doctors were on top of it, and were able to catch it quickly. How was the rest of your day? Did Bridger continue to be more alert? I hope so. Let us know how he is doing tomorrow. : )

How is it that one little boy can have so many trials? It makes me feel sad, but I know that everyone is doing everything possible to help him stay comfortable. You are a great mom...keep it up :) Tell Bridger that his aunt Leisa, Uncle J and two cousins love him and want him to get better soon. We love you and Danny as well.

Hi Staci, How are you? I hope Bridger is doing better today. We are on our way to watch Myla so Eric and Ally can have dinner with you guys. I am writing to let you know what I am doing with the paper cranes. My school (Jordan Resource Center) has several students that are autistic and they love to fold oragami, it seems to settle their minds a bit. So they have taken this project by storm. I have sent them home with paper so they can fold over the weekend. I will get them to you next week. I told Danny I will spray them with Lysol to take care of any germs that may linger. Also, is there anything you need done at your house? Gary said he would mow the lawns if you need it. You guys are always in our thoughts and prayers. Bridger-Hey little dude, get stronger, we will see you soon. Love to you guys, Gary and Suzanne

I LOVE the new pictures, Staci. This little boy is amazing!!! How he can still smile, and be happy in spite of everything, is incredible. Dad made the comment yesterday, that there is not 60 seconds that goes by, that he does not think of you three. I think that goes for everyone who loves you. Keep getting stronger, Bridger! You are so very loved. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, mommy, and daddy, ALWAYS!!!! Love, Nana
